Principal's Welcome: 

Welcome to the website of Kilcroan National School.

Kilcroan N.S is a co-educational school located just outside the village of Ballymoe, Co. Galway. The school has long been part of the local community, having first opened its doors in 1948. 

There are currently 52 pupils enrolled in the school.  Our staff consists of three mainstream class teachers, two special education teachers and two Special Needs Assistants, as well as a part time secretary and caretaker. 

The school is under the patronage of the Catholic Church.

Our vision here in Kilcroan N.S. is to create and cultivate a vibrant school community with the aim of providing the best possible education for all the children in our school. The children are treated individually and are given every opportunity to be the very best that they can be. I'm proud to say that we have a special school community here in Kilcroan N.S.

We have a very active Board of Management and Parent's Council who work alongside the school staff in providing the best opportunities for our students.

Mission Statement:

Kilcroan is a co-educational Catholic, primary school, which strives to provide a well-ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed.

While Kilcroan is a school with a Catholic ethos as stated in our school ethos and religious education policy, it also has due recognition for all other religions.

Kilcroan will strive to promote, both individually and correlatively the professional and personal development of teachers through staff development programmes.

Kilcroan will encourage the involvement of parents through home/school contacts and through their involvement in the Kilcroan Parents Association.

Kilcroan will endeavour to ensure the self-esteem of everyone in the school community, to imbue in the pupils respect for people and property and to encourage in them the idea of being responsible.

Kilcroan will promote gender equity amongst the teachers and pupils.
